About the role

The Global Analytics & Insights (GA&I) team improves the quality of decisions on our oncology assets through excellent market, customer, and competitor analytics. This role leads insight and analytics generation within our lung cancer portfolio, shaping business strategy for upcoming oncology launches. You will work closely with cross-functional partners, global commercial teams, and local markets to translate market understanding and competitive dynamics into strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Insights:
    • Lead end-to-end design, execution, interpretation, and sharing of qualitative and quantitative market research, translating business priorities into clear research questions and actionable outputs.
    • Integrate insights across primary research, secondary sources, real-world data, and other evidence to identify strategic implications for brand and disease-area strategy.
  • Forecasting:
    • Lead long-term forecasting by integrating insights, performance analytics, and competitive intelligence to develop robust assumptions and quantify commercial potential for inline and pipeline indications.
    • Partner with global commercial teams and local markets to calibrate and align on a shared forecast view, ensuring outputs reflect strategic choices, market dynamics, opportunities, and risks.
  • Performance:
    • Co-lead KPI development with commercial teams to define success, ensuring KPIs are informative, measurable, and actionable to guide business growth.
    • Monitor market dynamics, including AstraZeneca and competitor product performance, to identify growth opportunities, risks, and implications for brand strategy.
  • Analytics:
    • Partner with data experts to frame business questions and determine appropriate analytical approaches across complex datasets (e.g., electronic medical records, claims data, quantitative surveys).
    • Understand strengths, limitations, and trade-offs of analytical approaches, translating results into clear implications for commercial and local-market stakeholders.
  • General:
    • Influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders by translating complex insights, analytics, and forecasts into compelling, tailored recommendations.
    • Apply business acumen to identify priority areas for insight generation and forecasting, proactively shaping analyses and assumptions for brand and disease-area strategy.
    • Develop deep subject-matter expertise in your disease area and brand, becoming the go-to partner for market understanding and strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, mathematics, or a data-related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a closely related field (e.g., life sciences consulting, investment banking).
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following: forecasting, primary market research, or advanced analytics.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders through clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under time pressure.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PhD) is desirable.
  • Familiarity and proficiency with AI-powered analytical tools and platforms.
  • Learning agility and a passion for mastering complex new topics.
  • Experience in Oncology is strongly preferred.

Schedule

This role operates on a hybrid schedule, with an expectation of in-office work a minimum of three days per week. Individual flexibility is respected while balancing collaboration needs.

Pay

The annual base pay for this position ranges between $194,571.20 and $291,856.80 USD. Eligibility for short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards, and commissions (for sales roles) may apply.
