About the role

Medical Scribes work side-by-side with healthcare providers (physicians, PAs, NPs) following them around the ED to document patient visits into the electronic medical record system as everything occurs.

Responsibilities

• Document patient visits into the electronic medical record system as they occur
• Gain an extensive base of medical terminology and clinical information
• Gain on-the-job clinical exposure and hours
• Work as an essential part of a real healthcare team
• Learn much more than just charting by becoming the physician's right-hand man

Requirements

• College degree, or current enrollment in a related field
• Minimum of 2-4 shifts a week
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to clearly communicate, orally and in writing
• Responsible and mature individual with a passion for healthcare and learning
• Strong organizational skills
• Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM
• Comfortable with computers
