This role supports GIS data management, mapping, web application development, and operational support for a Work Management platform built on ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. The position works closely with GIS Analysts and Business Support teams to maintain data accuracy, develop GIS solutions, support field users, and assist with Python-based automation. Based in a hybrid work environment with periodic onsite requirements in Atlanta, the role offers the opportunity to contribute to forestry, utility, and right-of-way operations through innovative GIS and business application solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform GIS data collection, editing, visualization, and quality control activities using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Create, update, and maintain maps and other GIS-based visual products to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain ArcGIS Online applications, including web maps, Web Apps, Experience Builder solutions, and Field Maps.
  • Run, monitor, and support Python scripts and notebooks used for vegetation management, dispatching, and other GIS-related business functions.
  • Troubleshoot GIS applications and provide responsive support to foresters, specialists, and other end users in the field and office.
  • Collaborate with GIS Analysts on complex GIS initiatives, enhancements, and solution design to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist with ongoing improvements to GIS tools, workflows, and data quality processes, including automation and standardization efforts.
  • Support Forestry and Right-of-Way operations by configuring and maintaining GIS and business application solutions tailored to operational needs.
  • Work within Microsoft 365 tools such as Teams, SharePoint, and Planner to coordinate tasks, share information, and document workflows.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of GIS workflow automation and business process optimization initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree with GIS included in the curriculum.
  • 2+ years of experience using ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Hands-on experience creating, editing, managing, and visualizing GIS feature and tabular data.
  • Experience developing Web Apps, Web Maps, Field Maps, and Experience Builder solutions in ArcGIS Online.
  • Exposure to Python scripting and/or Python Notebooks in a GIS environment.
  • Ability to run and support Python scripts and notebooks for operational GIS tasks.
  • Experience working within Microsoft 365 environments, including Teams, SharePoint, and Planner.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot GIS applications and provide effective support to end users.
  • Experience supporting GIS field users and resolving technical and data-related issues.
  • Familiarity with GIS workflow automation and business process improvement initiatives.

Skills

  • Experience in the utility industry and familiarity with utility GIS workflows.
  • Forestry experience, particularly in support of field operations and resource management.
  • Vegetation management experience, including use of GIS tools for planning and monitoring.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
  • Experience supporting ArcGIS Enterprise Portal environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting GIS solutions for field users in remote or distributed locations.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Planner, Teams, and SharePoint in a cloud environment for collaboration and task management.

Schedule

This role offers a hybrid work schedule based in Atlanta, combining onsite and remote work. During the first 3–4 months, the successful candidate will primarily work in person 2–3 days per week for approximately 8 hours per day to complete training and become familiar with systems, workflows, and field user needs. After training, the schedule will shift to a more remote arrangement, typically 3–4 days per week, with onsite presence as required to support operations and collaboration. The position is structured around a target of 40 hours per week; however, workload may vary based on process flows and demand from the client base.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
