GIS Analyst

Job Description

The GIS analyst is responsible for the ongoing operations of the Geographic Information System (GIS) program to a high standard of quality. They collaborate with the GIS team on project scope, schedule, customer satisfaction, and productivity. Responsibilities include developing automated processes and web mapping applications, creating specialized data sets, reports, maps, graphics, and other requested materials by analyzing data using GIS. They also provide expertise in planning, coordinating, and executing geospatial data collection and processing in support of research and operational applications. They lead the application of geospatial technologies in the Oil and Gas sector, addressing tasks such as change detection and monitoring. They utilize data mining and feature extraction technologies, along with accuracy assessment procedures, to enhance the precision of geospatial analysis and modeling. They identify and apply innovative approaches to geospatial analysis specific to Oil and Gas operations.

• Utilizes ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and Portal for ArcGIS.
• Designs and edits GIS data for numerous projects.
• Develops and implements GIS applications.
• Generates maps, reports, and other outputs from GIS systems.
• Provides training and support to users of GIS applications.
• Maintains data integrity and accuracy.
• Has general knowledge of handheld devices and field apps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS Analysis, Environmental Science, Geography, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience with ESRI software.
• 2+ years of experience using ArcGIS Pro.
• Solid cartographic skills.
• Detailed project management and facilitation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail; verbal and written communication.

Physical Demands and Exposures

This position works inside a climate-controlled environment. The Company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job. Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm. Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
