About the role

Itinerant position based at 30 Johnson Street, Lackawanna, NY.

Core Responsibilities

• Design structured training sessions, physical conditioning programs, and fundamental skill drills.
• Develop competitive tactics, analyze opposing teams, and call plays or make substitutions during games.
• Evaluate individual player strengths and weaknesses to provide constructive feedback and mentorship.
• Foster good sportsmanship, discipline, and a positive team culture.
• Coordinate team logistics like travel, maintain equipment, and monitor players’ academic progress where applicable.

Qualifications & Skills

• Deep understanding of basketball rules, advanced strategies, and training methods.
• Clear verbal communication skills to instruct players and motivate the team.
• Strong decision-making under pressure and interpersonal skills to build relationships with athletes.
• Prior playing or coaching experience at the relevant youth, high school, or collegiate level.

Certification & Training

• Coaching Basketball certification {0023}
• Concussion Training, AED, CPR
• Child Abuse Training, DASA, Fingerprinting

Schedule

Part-time, annual contract. Start date: November 11, 2026.

Pay

Salary: $2,335.00 total for the contract.
