Girls Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach
Location: Newton High School
About the role
The position will start in November 2026.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head wrestling coach in developing and implementing the team's training program
- Provide support and guidance to wrestlers during practices and competitions
- Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations set forth by the Iowa High School Athletic Association
- Work closely with other school staff and community partners to promote the sport of wrestling
Requirements
- A valid coaching endorsement or coaching authorization issued by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners
- A copy of the following Iowa BOEE Coaching Certificate:
- Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Certificate
- Coaching Transcripts
Qualifications
- Experience coaching wrestling at the high school level
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and other school staff
Skills
- Knowledge of wrestling techniques and strategies
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes
- Effective time management and organizational skills
