Girls/Boys JV Tennis Head Coach

About the role

The successful candidate will join a dynamic athletic department that believes that athletics is an integral and valuable component of our students' overall educational experience. We believe that student-athletes benefit not only physically and emotionally by participating and competing in sports, and that one of our fundamental responsibilities is to help student-athletes develop critical skills (e.g., teamwork, resilience, leadership, tenacity, etc.) that promote success in the classroom, in college and in life.

Responsibilities

• Help coordinate and supervise the Girls/Boys Tennis program.
• Ensures that University and League policies, rules and regulations regarding the conduct of athletic activities and student-athletes are followed.
• Works with the Varsity Head Coach and Athletic Department to plan and organize practices and games schedules.
• Maintains a safe environment for student-athletes at all times.
• Helps to ensure regular supervision of student-athletes at home and away games and ensures appropriate behavior.
• Ensures that student-athletes adhere to training rules, class and grade requirements, and rules of behavior on the court, in conditioning, and in the team room.
• Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, parents, and officials. Resolves all conflicts in a professional manner.
• Professionally represents University in all interactions with the community at large.
• Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
• Attends work regularly and is punctual to all practices and games.
• Obtain advance approval for the Athletic Director for all team-related expenditures.
• Manages other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience as a tennis coach at the high school or college-level.
• Knowledgeable of the fundamentals and techniques of competitive tennis.
• Can play in during training sessions when needed.
• Strong organizational skills and systems.
• CPR/First Aid certificates required.

Pay

This is a seasonal, part-time job. $8000
