Girls Basketball Assistant Coach

Phoenix-Talent School District #4 is seeking applications for an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at Phoenix High School.

About the role

Supervise sub-varsity basketball team in conjunction with the overall program and under the direction of the head coach. Assist the head basketball coach, maintain direct supervision of athletes, attend all practices and competitions, provide consistent discipline in line with the program policies, maintain equipment, supplies, uniforms, game score book, statistics, and accurate records. This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head basketball coach with team supervision and coordination
• Attend all practices and competitions
• Maintain direct supervision of athletes during activities
• Provide consistent discipline aligned with program policies
• Maintain equipment, supplies, uniforms, game score books, and statistics
• Keep accurate records related to the team and program

Requirements

• Experience coaching high school girls basketball
• Knowledge of fundamentals and techniques of play
• ASEP/NFHS certification or ability to become certified
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification or ability to become certified
• Meet required driver training for activity van usage
• Flexible work schedule to accommodate practices and matches

Qualifications

• Preference may be given to candidates with a valid Oregon teaching license
• Preference may be given to bilingual candidates (Spanish and English)
