Girls Asst. Volleyball Coach
Phoenix-Talent School District #4 is seeking applications for an Extra Duty position: Girls Freshman Volleyball Coach at Phoenix High School.
About the Role
To help lead the overall growth of volleyball in our district by setting the course for our high school program. Responsibilities include planning strategy, displaying organizational skills, and building relationships with student-athletes. The coach will supervise the volleyball team during practices, bus trips, games, and in the locker room, while providing consistent discipline and direction by following PHS and the program's policies. Involvement in local youth volleyball is expected, along with maintaining equipment, supplies, uniforms, game score books, statistics, and accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement volleyball strategies.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, bus trips, and in the locker room.
- Provide consistent discipline and direction in alignment with PHS and program policies.
- Engage in local youth volleyball initiatives.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, uniforms, game score books, statistics, and records.
Requirements
- High school volleyball playing experience.
- High school volleyball coaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of fundamentals and techniques of play.
- ASEP/NFHS certified or ability to become certified.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
- Meet required driver's training for activity van usage.
- Flexible work schedule to accommodate practices and matches.
Qualifications
- Preference may be given to candidates with a valid Oregon teaching license.
- Preference may be given to bilingual/biliterate candidates (Spanish and English).
Pay
Salary is determined by the negotiated salary schedule and current memorandums of understanding with the collective bargaining unit.
Reports to: Athletic Director/Head Coach.
