Girls Assistant Swim and Dive

Support student-athlete development in swim and dive and assist the District’s School Athletic Department mission and vision statement.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in teaching swim/dive fundamentals, strategies, and sportsmanship.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, travel, and related events.
• Attend and actively participate in all scheduled practices, games (home and away), and team functions.
• Support the head coach in planning practices, game management, and conducting skill instruction.
• Monitor and enforce all eligibility, safety, and conduct requirements as established by IHSA, the school, and district policies.
• Chaperone and supervise athletes at all swim events (including practices, games, community gatherings, etc.), maintaining discipline and promoting a positive team environment.
• Maintain a safe environment and report injuries promptly to appropriate staff.
• Complete required paperwork, attendance logs, and communicate with parents and administration as needed.
• Attend coach meetings and required professional development as assigned by the athletic department.
• Assist with equipment management, set-up, and breakdown for practices and meets.
• Attend community events (such as parades, fundraisers, etc.).
• Foster academic achievement, positive citizenship, and school spirit among student-athletes.
• Complete required first aid, CPR, and district coaching certifications as required by ISBE/IHSA and adhere to all training expectations.

Availability to work in the off season is expected.

Qualifications

• ISBE, ASEP, or NFHS certification required.
• Previous high school tennis coaching experience preferred.

Compensation

Stipend as defined in contract Appendix II for Assistant Coach (Category III).

Board-provided employee benefits (including health, dental, life insurance, leave, and participation in district retirement plans) are not available to external hires in these roles.
