Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Design Leadership Team, Sales, and Merchandising to strategize and execute seasonal SKU development plans that align with market trends and business goals.
- Drive the research and curation of innovative fabrics, trims, embellishments, prints, and graphics tailored specifically to the kids activewear market.
- Oversee and deliver high-quality, comprehensive CADs, tech packs, and intricate design detail pages for all seasonal kids collections.
- Lead the concept-to-completion development of girls’ sets across multiple diverse accounts and brands.
- Collaborate with leadership to seamlessly balance elevated creative vision with sales targets, margin goals, and production realities.
- Partner seamlessly with Tech and Production teams to ensure garment fit, construction, and design details strictly align with brand standards and factory capabilities.
- Develop high-impact presentation boards, comprehensive line sheets, color palettes, and other crucial design assets for key stakeholder and buyer meetings.
- Manage direct, clear communication with overseas vendors to ensure design execution, quality control, and calendar deadlines are met.
- Act as a mentor to associate and assistant designers, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment within the department.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of professional apparel design experience, with a proven track record in activewear (kids activewear experience strongly preferred).
- Mastery of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on a MAC platform, with advanced skills in digital rendering and CAD creation.
- A strong background or advanced knowledge in print and graphic design layout for children’s apparel.
- A deep, intuitive understanding of activewear trends, performance fabrics, color theory, trim innovation, and complex garment construction.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and product lifecycle management tools, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- An exceptional attention to detail and a strategic, creative, and technical mindset.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to accept feedback constructively and present concepts confidently to cross-functional partners.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design.
