Gift Shop Assistant Manager - Rotational Hours - Full Time - AGH
Essential Responsibilities
- Assists with managing merchandise and buying operations including attending major trade shows, completing year-end physical inventory, and meeting with sales representatives.
- Builds customer awareness through promotions and marketing tools such as developing and implementing new programs for sales development.
- Forecasts and manages all gift shop costs, revenues, and overall department expenses; develops and maintains budgetary standards to ensure a cost-effective operation; handles financial obligations and buyer responsibilities.
- Guides personnel in the performance of their job duties and responsibilities; assists in maintaining standards of service and ensures adequate coverage for operational needs; trains and mentors staff.
- Manages and maintains an operational Point of Sale system, including troubleshooting system failures.
- Manages fundraising events including maintaining and establishing relationships with outside vendors for sales events, sponsorships, and other needs of the Auxiliary.
- Implements special projects at the request of the Auxiliary Gift Shop Committee and regularly attends Auxiliary Gift Shop Committee meetings on behalf of the Gift Shop Manager.
- Maintains compliance of all hospital and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years retail experience
- PREFERRED: Associate's Degree in Business Administration
