About the role
Gifford Farm Education Center, Educational Service Unit #3 seeks Outdoor Educators to provide educational programs to students in the Omaha Metro area at Gifford Farm Education Center in Bellevue. The position offers flexible scheduling within school hours.
Responsibilities
- Complete training provided by Gifford Farm Staff for each program taught.
- Provide information to students and all visitors based on the curriculum set in place by Gifford Farm Training, curriculum, and Standard Operating Guides of Gifford Farm Education Center.
- Attend annual training and review curriculum, Standard Operating Guides, and ESU #3 handbook annually.
- Follow the direction of the Executive Director of Programs Services/Gifford Farm Coordinator and Program Team Leaders in all matters related to Gifford Farm and Gifford Farm programs.
- Present programs to all visitors in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
- Maintain working knowledge of program materials presented.
- Possess a working knowledge and comply with Gifford Farm and ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies, Safety Policies and Procedures, and ESU3 Employee Handbook.
- Aid in preparation and set up of programs.
- Aid in clean up, closing of programs, and storage of program supplies.
- Arrive and prepare for programs according to scheduled and posted start times.
- Willingness to maintain flexibility in program scheduling and timing.
- Maintain a positive and friendly working relationship with other staff members.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Programs Services Gifford Farm Coordinator.
Requirements
- No history of child abuse or negligence.
- High School graduate, equivalent, or in progress.
- Experience interacting with PreK-2nd grade is preferred, but not required.
Qualifications
- Team-focused, caring individual.
- Good customer service skills.
- Regular and dependable in-person attendance is required.
- Interest in one or more of these areas is preferred: agriculture, nature, history, science, or team building.
