Giant Voice Associate Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Uses engineering knowledge and methods to design, install, support, and repair technological tools and equipment at a field location (in the field, at a remote office, or at a client site).
• Analyzes user needs; builds, modifies, installs, and tests products.
• Troubleshoots errors or malfunctions and performs unscheduled or routine maintenance.
• Creates, distributes, and maintains service or training manuals; provides on-site training.
• Support overall sustainment and repair operations of the Army’s Giant Voice and Audio-Visual Notification Systems (AVNS) including the management, operation, and maintenance of associated hardware, software, and processes.
• Demonstrate through understanding of area of responsibility.
• Work closely with Lead.
• Document repair information of hardware, software, in conjunction with geospatial data.
• Use of boom & scissor lifts, forklifts, and bucket trucks to perform repairs 20-80 feet off the ground.
• Perform and conduct research of potential resolution of assigned technical issues with teammates and OEM representatives.
• Work closely with Engineering, Security, Site and Systems Administration teams to incorporate customer feedback and address key support and usability concerns for customers.
• Communicate and interact effectively with internal and external partners including but not limited to, 3rd party support team, and Government customers.
• Demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and regulations, especially those surrounding safety and communications.

Qualifications

• DoD Secret Clearance is required (or ability to obtain and maintain one).
• High School or GED equivalent.
• 1-2 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of / willingness to learn Emergency Management systems: Giant Voice Exp or LMR Exp or Apprentice Electrician.
• Technical test equipment used to install / repair GV, LMR, and AVNS.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills.
• Must be able to lift 70lbs.
• Must be able to travel 75% of the time to perform the job.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy-duty equipment like boom and scissor lifts, cranes, excavators used to install / repair GV, LMR, and AVNS.

Pay Range

$65,000-$72,000
