Giant Voice Associate Field Engineer
Responsibilities
- Uses engineering knowledge and methods to design, install, support, and repair technological tools and equipment at a field location (in the field, at a remote office, or at a client site).
- Analyzes user needs; builds, modifies, installs, and tests products.
- Troubleshoots errors or malfunctions and performs unscheduled or routine maintenance.
- Creates, distributes, and maintains service or training manuals; provides on-site training.
- Support overall sustainment and repair operations of the Army’s Giant Voice and Audio-Visual Notification Systems (AVNS) including the management, operation, and maintenance of associated hardware, software, and processes.
- Demonstrate through understanding of area of responsibility.
- Work closely with Lead.
- Document repair information of hardware, software, in conjunction with geospatial data.
- Use of boom & scissor lifts, forklifts, and bucket trucks to perform repairs 20-80 feet off the ground.
- Perform and conduct research of potential resolution of assigned technical issues with teammates and OEM representatives.
- Work closely with Engineering, Security, Site and Systems Administration teams to incorporate customer feedback and address key support and usability concerns for customers.
- Communicate and interact effectively with internal and external partners including but not limited to, 3rd party support team, and Government customers.
- Demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and regulations, especially those surrounding safety and communications.
Qualifications
- DoD Secret Clearance is required (or ability to obtain and maintain one).
- High School or GED equivalent.
- 1-2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of / willingness to learn Emergency Management systems: Giant Voice Exp or LMR Exp or Apprentice Electrician.
- Technical test equipment used to install / repair GV, LMR, and AVNS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills.
- Must be able to lift 70lbs.
- Must be able to travel 75% of the time to perform the job.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy-duty equipment like boom and scissor lifts, cranes, excavators used to install / repair GV, LMR, and AVNS.
Pay Range
$65,000-$72,000
