About the role

Responsibilities
- Directly accountable to the G.I. RN and Director of Perioperative Services/Designee.
- Act as the scrub assistant to the physician during invasive G.I. procedures, handing sterilized instruments, scopes, and/or supplies without unnecessary delay.
- Arrive and prepare to assist in an emergency case within 30 minutes when on-call.
- Assist co-workers in providing continuous, quality patient care for adults and older adults.
- Adhere to regulations, standards, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental Performance Improvement activities.
- Act as a resource person for other personnel as appropriate.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent or related experience (required for new hires effective April 2014).
- Graduate of a CNA or Medical Assistant training program (required).
- Previous on-the-job training with a minimum of 2 years of experience (GI setting preferred).
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
