About the role

Join our fun-employed family and bring to life the ghoulish past of our Ghosts & Gravestones tour. The Ghost Host entertains guests by sharing stories of Savannah's haunted past while making them feel welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Present historically accurate information in an entertaining manner in costume, on a moving trolley on busy streets and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Tour the most haunted places in the city, narrating local history from an approved script.
• Study and rehearse roles from scripts to learn and memorize lines and cues as directed.
• Switch positions with ease when required during a work shift.
• Use props as directed and remain on show schedule when performing.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Strong interest in history is desirable.
• Prior performance or interpretation experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing.
• Must have a passion for helping people and making their Savannah experience a memorable one.

Skills

• Able to learn and memorize scripted materials and historical details.
• Able to work independently over long periods of time within the scope of established rules and regulations.
• Able to handle stressful situations and difficult people while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor.
• Able to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow employees and the general public.

Benefits

• Competitive pay and paid training: $18 per hour + tips, most Ghost Actors average around $25 per hour, depending on tips.

Pay
