A Cashier provides friendly, accurate, and efficient customer service at the point of sale. This is a part-time, weekend-only position.

Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently (credit cards, cash, checks, etc.) in a timely and friendly manner.
Greet customers as they enter and exit the store to create a welcoming impression.
Verify merchandise quantities, descriptions, and prices to ensure transaction accuracy.
Handle returns, exchanges, and sales of merchandise.
Answer incoming phone calls promptly, efficiently, and courteously.
Receive payments on commercial accounts, handle C.O.D. tickets, and assist with credit applications.
Complete and file due tickets for later pick-ups and rain checks for out-of-stock items.
Accurately count tenders, prepare deposits, and organize the cash drawer for the next day.
Use the credit and check verification system according to company policy.
Manage daily paperwork, including filing, storage, reports, currency, and other documentation.
Direct customers to items in the store and call for assistance from other team members when needed.
Maintain cash controls to protect company assets.
Follow all cashier procedures and accurately distinguish between similar products.
Help keep the store clean and perform other tasks as assigned by store management.

Strong oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers, vendors, and associates.
Customer service-oriented and team-oriented with good organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical ability to climb ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs., handle large or odd-shaped items, and stock overhead areas.
Ability to accurately count and distinguish denominations of money.
Maintain a high level of product knowledge.
