Geotechnical Senior Engineer SME - Gateway

About the role

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Gateway Tunnel Project team. This role focuses on the design and construction of complex structures in soft ground conditions, including foundations and excavation support systems. The successful candidate will be involved in various geotechnical investigations and analyses, ensuring the integrity of underground elements. Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate geotechnical subsurface investigations
• Prepare and review Geotechnical Data Reports and foundation design reports
• Perform geotechnical design for underground structures and foundations
• Conduct ground characterization based on subsurface geotechnical data
• Perform deep foundation design for drilled shafts and driven piles
• Conduct slope stability and seepage analyses
• Perform liquefaction and seismic site class evaluations
• Prepare design calculations and engineering reports
• Plan and coordinate geotechnical instrumentation and construction monitoring
• Attend meetings and provide engineering services during construction

Requirements

• 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in geotechnical engineering
• 12-15 years of related work experience preferably in the northern New Jersey/NYC area
• Professional Engineer registration in the State of New Jersey
• Proficiency in geotechnical and geo-structural software such as LPILE, GROUP, and Plaxis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Local resident of the NYC metro area

Pay

$175,000 - $240,000 per year
