Geotechnical - Project Manager

About the role

Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Project Manager for its Monroeville, PA office. The position involves geotechnical subsurface investigations, design, and construction‑related problem solving for real estate, oil and gas, and landfill site projects, as well as management of construction materials testing services.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or monitor subsurface drilling, obtain soil and rock samples, and prepare boring logs.
• Develop laboratory testing programs, interpret laboratory data, and perform geotechnical analyses and design.
• Prepare technical reports for geotechnical subsurface investigations.
• Manage, coordinate, supervise, review, and direct technician staff for earthwork, concrete, foundation, masonry, and pavement construction testing.
• Oversee construction materials testing for commercial, oil and gas, and landfill projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5+ years of consulting geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license with applicable experience.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
