About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Laboratory Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our state-of-the-art advanced geotechnical soils laboratory. This role ensures the highest level of service to clients and drives innovation in laboratory technologies and methodologies. The Laboratory Manager will supervise laboratory operations, mentor technicians, manage resources, and maintain quality assurance standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all aspects of geotechnical soils laboratory operations, ensuring efficient processing of specimens and timely delivery of test results.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of laboratory technicians in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Train laboratory technicians and engineers within the company.
- Manage inventory and resources to meet client and staff needs.
- Serve as a liaison between Knight Piésold professional staff and clients.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to enhance services.
- Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and software systems.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of field and laboratory geotechnical testing methods, techniques, and results interpretation.
- Minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Engineering degree or equivalent education (preferred).
Pay
Annual compensation range: $95,000 – $120,000, depending on experience, education, and skill level.
