Geotechnical General Foreman/Field Trainer

Regional travel required in the Mid-Atlantic. Salary: $30 - $50 per hour, $75,000 - $150,000 annually.

About the Role

Reporting to the Geotechnical Group Operations Manager or Project Manager, the Geotechnical Foreman/Field Trainer oversees and trains field employees on each project. This position seeks a strong operator who understands drilling and using micropile/anchor drills and grout plants. This role is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Responsibilities

• Trains Geotechnical division workforce in the field, including labor crews, micropile labor crews, operators, etc.
• Provides hands-on mentorship and supervision on-site throughout various projects.
• Educates field employees in all aspects of the work, including safety and quality control.
• Coordinates appropriate training with safety departments and training centers.
• Ensures construction operations are safe by OSHA and Wagman standards.
• Monitors work activities and ensures consistent quality control.
• Reviews and understands site-specific plans and specifications.
• Reviews weekly plans with field supervision and projects a three-week look-ahead.
• Determines workforce needs and equipment requirements; assists in ordering materials.
• Approves hours worked on projects and trains foremen in proper submission of field hours.
• Computer literate in Microsoft programs, OnBase, and HeavyJobs.
• Performs 90-day evaluations and discusses crew activity and performance with field supervision.
• Acts as point of contact for field superintendents and facilitates effective communication across projects and locations.

Requirements

• High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred.
• Experience in earth retention and foundation construction projects.
• Experience in geotechnical construction.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Leadership experience and experience running crews.
• Hands-on experience with drilling equipment, tooling, cranes, and their capabilities.
• Open to regional travel.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
• Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
• Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
• Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot, and humid weather.
• Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required.
