About the role

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to join our dynamic team in greater Boston, MA. This role involves managing and executing geotechnical subsurface investigations, coordinating field drilling and sampling operations, preparing reports, and communicating with clients and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute geotechnical subsurface investigations
  • Coordinate and monitor field drilling and sampling operations
  • Prepare boring logs and develop field and laboratory testing programs
  • Analyze lab data and perform geotechnical design calculations (settlement, slope stability)
  • Prepare geotechnical reports and calculation packages of varying complexity
  • Provide design recommendations for building foundation, cut and fill slopes, retaining walls, landslides, and flexible/rigid pavements
  • Prepare geotechnical design submittals for retaining walls, slope repairs, and ground improvement
  • Supervise and mentor technical staff and field personnel
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or related field
  • 7+ years of geotechnical experience as either a consultant or a contractor
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred
  • Experience with geotechnical software such as Slide, RSWall, Settle, RS2, and LPile desirable

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Skills

  • Geotechnical engineering principles and practices
  • Geotechnical software proficiency (Slide, RSWall, Settle, RS2, LPile)
  • Project management and coordination skills
  • Technical writing and report preparation

Pay

The pay range for this position is between $90,000 and $145,000. The hiring range posted is a good faith estimate of what Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. may reasonably offer for the role as outlined. Factors such as additional education and/or experience may influence the actual offering.

Schedule

Candidates will have the option to sit in either our Raynham, MA or Peabody, MA office locations.
