Geotechnical Engineer - Project Manager
About the role
Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Project Manager for our Napeville, IL office. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects in energy generation and transmission, manufacturing, commercial real estate, transportation, recycling and waste management projects, and others. As a project manager, you will manage large and small projects in our immediate region as well as across the country.
Responsibilities
- Coordination and monitoring subsurface drilling investigations
- Reviewing boring logs
- Developing laboratory testing programs
- Interpreting laboratory data, performing geotechnical analyses
- Preparing reports
- Managing field engineers and technicians
- Reviewing field reports and field test results
- Confirming compliance with project design drawings and specifications
- Making presentations to clients and other stakeholders
Requirements
- 5+ years of Geotechnical Engineering experience
- Professional Engineer License (P.E.)
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Potential sign-on and relocation bonus, if applicable. The posting range for this position is between $84,456 - $154,494 based on experience and location (in addition, CEC offers overtime pay and other great benefits).
