Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee geotechnical engineering analysis, field explorations, and laboratory testing programs.
- Review and interpret subsurface investigation data, including soil and rock properties.
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports, recommendations, and technical documentation.
- Provide foundation design recommendations, slope stability analysis, earthwork evaluation, and pavement design support.
- Ensure projects adhere to applicable standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Conduct senior-level technical reviews to ensure accuracy and quality control.
- Provide construction-phase support, including observation, testing oversight, and issue resolution.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Cookordinate with engineers, geologists, technicians, subcontractors, and laboratories.
- Prepare written proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
- Track project progress to ensure on-time and within-budget completion.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Serve as a technical liaison to clients, addressing engineering concerns and providing solutions.
- Aid with business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client meetings.
- Support projects involving GDOT or other state/federal agencies (preferred).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required (Georgia registration preferred).
- 5-10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Experience with GDOT projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, field investigations, and laboratory testing procedures.
- Experience in preparing technical reports and engineering recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with Department of Transportation (DOT), federal, or municipal projects.
- Familiarity with slope stability, deep and shallow foundations, retaining walls, and embankment design.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
