About the role

Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer (PE or PE Eligible) in our Phoenix, AZ office supporting our geotechnical engineering practice. Our ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging role will be responsible for the following tasks outlined below.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing of Geotechnical Engineering Project Budget and Schedule
  • Responsible for supervision/oversight of field and laboratory sampling and testing
  • Requires some field and laboratory work
  • Training of staff level personnel
  • Contracting of projects with vendors and clients
  • Project lead for Construction Materials Testing Projects
  • Approving Vendor Invoices, Building T&M Invoices
  • Geotechnical Report preparation and review
  • Review of lab and field data from others
  • Ensure on-time report delivery
  • Client interactions/Responses to RFI’s

Qualifications

  • Pertinent Engineering degree required
  • Professional Civil Engineer Certification or EIT required
  • 2 to 5 years of experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching, and standing, walking, sitting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift
  • Field work including hand-augers, infiltration tests, logging and sampling of soil borings, will be needed from time to time
  • Laboratory work, including lifting and moving soil samples and lab equipment, sieving of soils and aggregate, etc. will be needed from time to time

Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000 to $80,000.
