Responsibilities
- Assists the Crew Chief in all aspects of drilling operation, while gaining the experience necessary to work with minimal direction
- Assists in the collection of field samples and data
- Returns field samples and data, organized and completed to the Project Manager
- Maintains tooling, equipment, and vehicles
- Assists the Crew Chief with trouble shooting mechanical problems and perform the required repairs
- Uses required and approved personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing all functions
- Promotes, communicates, and adheres to safe work practices
- Completes all required paperwork and training in a timely manner
- Operates Vehicles in a safe and lawful manner
- Maintains necessary compliance documentation relating to the operation of commercial motor vehicles
Requirements
- Prior geotechnical drilling experience is preferred, but not required
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, customers, and supervisors, while fostering a collaborative and engaging work environment
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Ability to problem solve and work in a dynamic work environment with ambiguity and changing priorities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
- Dependable, able to maintain reliable attendance and work a full-time schedule which sometimes includes weekend and night work
- Able to work outdoors, in a field / construction work setting, in all types of weather conditions and terrain
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis, 75 lbs occasionally
- A valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
- The ability to obtain a CDL license within 90 days is preferred
- The ability to pass a driving / road test
- The ability to pass a pre employment drug screen, criminal background check and motor vehicle record check
Qualifications
