Braun Intertec is seeking a geotechnical drilling assistant to join our Tyler, TX office. The role involves performing subsurface investigations for geotechnical and environmental purposes, including collecting soil, rock, groundwater samples, and logging field data across various terrains and weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Crew Chief in all aspects of drilling operation while gaining experience to work with minimal direction.
- Assists in the collection of field samples and data; ensures samples and data are organized and returned to the Project Manager.
- Responsible for maintaining tooling, equipment, and vehicles.
- Assists the Crew Chief with troubleshooting mechanical problems and performing required repairs.
- Uses required and approved personal protective equipment (PPE) during all functions.
- Promotes, communicates, and adheres to safe work practices.
- Completes all required paperwork and training in a timely manner.
- Operates vehicles safely and lawfully.
- Maintains compliance documentation for commercial motor vehicles.
Requirements
- Prior geotechnical drilling experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
- Effective and professional communication with co-workers, customers, and supervisors.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Ability to problem-solve in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities.
- Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
- Dependable with reliable attendance; ability to work full-time, including weekends and nights as needed.
- Available for travel up to 100%, often on short notice.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain a CDL license within 90 days is preferred.
- Must pass a driving/road test, pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle record check.

Pay
Compensation range: $45,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year.
