Job Description

As a Geotechnical Driller you will be responsible for providing assistance to and working with drilling staff, senior technicians, engineers, surveyors, and construction managers.

  • Performs drilling assignments under moderate direction and supervision.
  • Prepares daily reports and keeps accurate records of drilling activities.
  • Receives instruction on project’s objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
  • Sets up and monitors the safety and efficiency of drilling operations with experience working on large drilling projects with multiple contractors on-site.
  • Affirms compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements and understands soil classifications and characteristics.

    • Must have high school diploma
    • Is capable of lifting and carrying 50 pounds
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience in geotechnical drilling or the construction industry
    • Able to obtain and maintain railroad and safety certifications.
    • Able to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and obtain a commercial driving license (CDL).
    • Has experience with the following drilling disciplines:
      • Continuous flight augers
      • Hollow stem augers (3 1/4-inch, 4 1/4-inch, and 6 1/4-inch)
      • NQ wireline coring/tooling
      • Well installation (2-inch, 4-inch, and 6-inch)
      • American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) sampling methods
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
