Geotechnical Driller
Job Description
As a Geotechnical Driller you will be responsible for providing assistance to and working with drilling staff, senior technicians, engineers, surveyors, and construction managers.
- Performs drilling assignments under moderate direction and supervision.
- Prepares daily reports and keeps accurate records of drilling activities.
- Receives instruction on project’s objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
- Sets up and monitors the safety and efficiency of drilling operations with experience working on large drilling projects with multiple contractors on-site.
- Affirms compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements and understands soil classifications and characteristics.

- Must have high school diploma
- Is capable of lifting and carrying 50 pounds
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in geotechnical drilling or the construction industry
- Able to obtain and maintain railroad and safety certifications.
- Able to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and obtain a commercial driving license (CDL).
- Has experience with the following drilling disciplines:
- Continuous flight augers
- Hollow stem augers (3 1/4-inch, 4 1/4-inch, and 6 1/4-inch)
- NQ wireline coring/tooling
- Well installation (2-inch, 4-inch, and 6-inch)
- American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) sampling methods
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
