Geology, Student Aide PartTime Monroe Community College

About the role

Responsible for assisting geology faculty and current geology students with duties related to Physical Geology labs and other geology labs, as appropriate. This position will constitute a maximum of five hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Hold one to two hours of open lab time within the Geosciences Resource Room.
• Assist introductory-level geology students during active lab meetings.
• Meet with geology professors to prepare for introductory lab exercises.

Requirements

• Completion of both Physical Geology (GEO 101) and Historical Geology (GEO 102) with a grade of B or higher.
• Adheres to the College Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

Preferred: Completion of advanced geology courses, including GEO 200, 210, and/or 295.

Skills

Bilingual ability to read, write, and speak Spanish or other languages proficiently.

Pay

$16 per hour.

Hours per week: Determined by Department; Semester: Fall 2026.
