Geologist/Environmental Scientist

Responsibilities

• Preparation of ASTM-compliant Phase I / II ESAs
• Site Investigations
• Drilling/excavating contractor oversight, soil/groundwater/soil vapor sample collection
• Soil logging/geologic formation
• Soil sampling at various NYC agency sites
• Use of field equipment (PID meters, Horibas/water pumps etc.)
• Oversight of GW monitoring well installations
• Construction activities oversight including excavations, monitoring well installations, UST investigations/closures, etc.
• CAMP implementation and work zone monitoring
• Field activity report writing
• Aid project PMs with preparation of various summary reports and documents

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field
• 1-2 years’ experience (entry level candidates will also be considered)
• Must have a valid Driver's license and car (needed for field work)
• Self-starter with strong analytical and writing skills
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, reliable, detail oriented and a team player
• Strong communication skills required
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, Construction 30 HR. OSHA, SWPPP Certification a Plus but not required

Pay

Minimum: $50,000; Maximum: $60,000. The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
