Geologist/Environental Project Manager
APTIM has a Geologist/Environmental Project Manager opportunity to support environmental programs throughout southern California. The role involves development and management of all phases of various environmental programs, including assessment, remediation, and infrastructure projects for state, local government, heavy industry, and retail petroleum clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage existing State-wide environmental compliance programs for retail and telecommunication clients.
- Act as a seller-doer to drive revenue, profitability, cash flow, and repeat business by delivering quality products and services.
- Build client relationships and identify opportunities for additional work.
- Organize and contribute to business development activities; may serve as a key account manager.
- Manage professional employees, supervisors, and technical or production staff.
- Provide technical guidance to employees.
- Oversee all phases of project planning and execution, including pre-bid and proposal preparation, contract and subcontractor management, staff oversight, QA/QC, health and safety compliance, and project financials.
- Establish and monitor project safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Geology, or an applied science (MS preferred).
- 8+ years of project management and sales experience.
- Experience managing commercial, State, and Federal/DOD projects of varying sizes and scopes.
- Accountability for managing financial resources.
- In-depth expertise in environmental disciplines and knowledge of related fields.
- Familiarity with State and Federal environmental guidelines.
- Ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplined teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, and Word; knowledge of database and GIS programs is a plus.
- Remote (home-based), but candidate should be local to Irvine or San Diego areas.
- Professional Registration (P.E., P.G.) preferred.

Pay
As of the date of this posting, the pay range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 per year. Compensation depends on experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity.
