Geography Teacher

About the role

The Geography teacher will inspire and motivate students in a supportive and vibrant learning environment. Key responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, differentiating instruction, implementing assessment strategies, creating a positive classroom environment, contributing to the curriculum, and participating in extracurricular activities.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging and interactive Geography lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students and ensure all learners are challenged and supported.
• Implementing effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress, provide feedback, and support students in achieving their academic goals.
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to succeed.
• Contributing to the development of the Geography curriculum, resources, and teaching materials in collaboration with department colleagues.
• Participating in extracurricular activities, field trips, and enrichment programs to enhance students’ learning experiences and deepen their understanding of Geography.
• Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders to support students’ holistic development and academic success.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• A degree in Geography or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 experience desirable.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography education.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students.
