Geography - Adjunct
About the role
Adjunct positions at UCO are part-time teaching positions. This posting creates a pool of interested applicants from which the Department may draw as sections become open at any point in the current academic year; it may or may not result in hiring. Adjunct faculty members provide quality learning experiences for students and support the educational philosophy, mission, and long-term goals of the University of Central Oklahoma, the College of Liberal Arts, and the hiring department. They teach classes, advise and mentor students, evaluate student performance, and maintain student records in accordance with university policies, working collaboratively with full- and part-time colleagues and adhering to all policies and procedures outlined in the UCO Faculty and Employee Handbooks.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate geography courses, especially GEO 2303 Regional Geography of the World
- Advise and mentor students
- Evaluate student performance
- Maintain department and student records in accordance with university policies
- Collaborate with colleagues and professional peers
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Geography
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- University-level teaching experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
