Geographic Information System Specialist II
About the role
Hiring Department Energy Management is seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist II to join our dynamic team. This position will provide coordination of GIS and GPS systems, project development, and data management for the University of Missouri (MU) campus and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Updating existing GIS data with changes to campus facilities, utilities, and grounds.
- Developing and managing related projects and presenting/publishing information about them.
- Making geographical information system (GIS) maps, applications programming, data management, conducting surveys, and performing buried utility locates.
- Aiding department personnel in monitoring, reporting, and utilizing departmental data metrics.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Two years of documented experience with Geographical Information Systems.
- Working knowledge and experience using ESRI ArcGIS Software.
- Professional certification from ESRI ArcGIS.
- Familiarity with symbols and terminology used in civil, architectural, or electronic engineering.
- Experience accessing field sites to utilize GPS technologies for field data collection.
Supervision
Receives administrative and functional supervision from designated supervisor. Oral and written instructions are provided daily, occasionally supplemented by diagrams and/or blueprints.
Shift
7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday
