About the role

As an Environmental Lab Analyst / Chemist at ACZ Laboratories, you will be responsible for conducting chemical analyses and testing of environmental samples including soil, water, air, and hazardous waste. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and providing accurate data to support environmental assessments and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct accurate and timely environmental sample analysis
  • Prepare samples for analysis, including digestion, filtration, and dilution as required by standard operating procedures.
  • Perform chemical analyses of environmental samples using various laboratory techniques and instruments (e.g., GC-MS, ICP-AES, ICP-MS).
  • Ensure accurate analysis on environmental samples for various constituents to provide high-quality data that supports environmental monitoring and regulatory reporting.
  • Execute EPA approved methods according to laboratory standard operating procedures.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in analytical chemistry.
  • Participate in the development and validation of new laboratory methods and procedures.
  • Perform quality control checks and maintain records of laboratory activities.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments.
  • Clean laboratory equipment and facilities.
  • Document, review and report test results.
  • Prepare and review data.
  • Analyze samples, verify results, and produce reports with data of known and documented quality.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of laboratory activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Support laboratory safety, environmental protection and mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a hard science, with preference for chemistry, environmental science, or geology.
  • Previous laboratory experience in a professional or academic setting (e.g. laboratory component of a Chemistry class).
  • Previous experience in an environmental lab or analytical chemistry role is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in laboratory instruments and techniques relevant to environmental analysis is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to sit, stand for long periods of time (2-6 hours), lift 25-50 pounds.

Pay

The Pay Range For This Role Is 23.40 - 26 USD per hour(Steamboat Springs)
