Generator Service Technician, Generator Service Team

About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This role supports all AWS data centers and the critical equipment—servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling—that ensure customers have continual access to innovation. As a Generation Service Technician, you will have safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities within data center operations. You will identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures while serving as the primary customer support liaison to maximize data center availability.

All necessary tools and equipment will be provided by AWS. A lump sum stipend is available for eligible candidates who relocate for this position.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and promote all company safety protocols, maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Actively engage in accident prevention initiatives and contribute to ongoing safety improvement efforts.
• Travel within an assigned region to perform professional quality field service repairs consistent with company standards.
• Keep the Generator Service Manager continually apprised of current priorities to assist in answering customer questions and problems.
• Action requests for procurement of needed materials to perform assigned duties.
• Document detailed, complete, and correct descriptions of all repair operations performed.
• Accurately record time, expenses, and mileage.
• Lift up to 40 lbs; pushing and pulling a maximum force of 40 lbs.
• Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and provided by AWS.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical facilities maintenance and 2+ years of mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience, or a Bachelor's degree.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, or holidays in a 24/7/365 environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• Vocational/technical training or an associate degree or above, or 4+ years of military experience.

Pay

Base salary range: $37.64 - $65.91 USD hourly (Manassas, VA). Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
