General Trades Technician I (Carpentry)

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Performs repair tasks on related to the building shell and all systems integrated in that shell.
• Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Maintains systems as required by regulatory agencies.
• Responds to work orders and service requests in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment and system malfunctions, identifying root causes and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Collaborates with other stakeholders and outside vendors.
• Maintains accurate records of work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and other relevant information.
• Maintains stock, inventory, and orders materials.
• Adheres to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established procedures for hazardous materials handling and disposal.

Education Requirement

A High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Licensure Requirement

A Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Certifications

Certification from a trade program, preferred. Certification from miscellaneous installation or repair certifications from vendors, preferred.

Experience

Two years of commercial experience, required.
