General Technician Ship/R-ASC

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders and/or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Safely load and unload trailers, preparing goods for storage and/or shipment.
• Safely and efficiently move rolls, pallets and other materials throughout the facility.
• Ensure correct loading of product or other material onto pallets before moving.
• Ensure all loads are correctly and properly strapped, braced or padded to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
• Maintain baler room support.
• Provide support to press operation by correct set up of rolls.
• Any and all other work as may be requested by management.

Requirements

• High School diploma (or GED), one to three years related production experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have very good mechanical and physical ability.
• Lift truck operators must have and maintain safety training for operation of all company equipment.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift to 75 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing, and speaking.
• Able to hold, touch, feel and manipulate with hands product and equipment in a safe manner.
• Manual dexterity is required.
• Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Able to rotate shifts as required and be available to work more than 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary to meet customer product needs.
