General Surgery Physician (MD/DO)

The role involves providing comprehensive general surgical care, including procedures such as breast, colon, and hernia surgeries utilizing laparoscopic techniques. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating patients, prescribing medications, ordering tests, counseling patients and families, and referring to specialists when necessary. The surgeon will supervise other medical staff, document clinical care accurately, and adhere to ethical standards. Qualified candidates must be board-certified or eligible in surgery, with a medical degree from an accredited institution, and hold or be eligible for a North Carolina medical license and DEA registration. Strong communication skills in English and high-level reasoning abilities are essential for diagnosing and managing patient care. Additional requirements include BLS certification, physical ability to perform clinical duties, and comfort working in a medical office environment. The position is full-time, onsite, with standard weekday hours and a call schedule of 1:3. The practice involves both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with a supportive team of physicians and advanced practice providers.
