Bassett Healthcare Network, in Central New York, is seeking a BC/BE General Surgeon with a focus on breast surgery to join our staff in Cooperstown, NY.
About the role
- Join an established group of 15 Surgeons and 6 Advanced Practice Clinicians
- Certified Cancer Treatment Center based in Cooperstown with multiple regional centers for diagnostic and treatment options
- 180-bed primary hospital with Level III Trauma Center
- Instant referral base provided by over 500 network clinicians
- Full support staff including PAs with surgical residents and medical student interaction
- Travel required for regional patient care
- State-of-the-art ORs including DaVinci Surgical System
- No general surgery/trauma call requirement
- General Surgeons share call coverage for breast surgery patients
- Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region
- Part of a progressive academic health system and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons
Requirements
- MD, DO, or MBBS
- BC/BE in General Surgery – Breast Fellowship required
- Completion of an accredited USA General Surgery residency, successful completion of which results in board eligibility
- New York medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- BLS certification required
- DEA required
- Strong teamwork, patient-centered approach, and ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary academic setting

- Salary range: $355,000–$382,698 plus performance-based compensation with no earnings cap; potential upside realized within the first year of employment
