St. Mary's Hospital, a proud member of the Prime Healthcare network, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join our growing surgical team in Kankakee, Illinois. Responsibilities

• Staff a suburban acute care emergency room
• Perform a well-trained general surgeon role with case mix including bread and butter general surgery operations along with acute care surgery
• Provide a broad range of elective general surgery, endoscopy, as well as urgent surgery
• Respond to in-house call within 60 minutes (not required to be on-site)

Qualifications

• Full-time general surgeon interested in becoming a partner in a suburban practice
• Interest in practicing a wide range of general surgical procedures
• Experience working with and teaching surgery residents and medical students
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
• Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (ABMS or AOA)
• Current and unrestricted Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Current DEA registration
• Excellent interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $430,000–$450,000 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
