About the role
A Board Certified MD/DO who has successfully completed a General Surgery Residency with at least 5 years of post-training experience is ideal. The position is suited for someone interested in a GI-heavy practice in a rural setting.
Responsibilities
- Work independently in a solo practice in a scenic island community
- Perform general surgical procedures in a clinic setting
- Occasionally handle wound care cases, with support from a certified RN
- Collaborate with visiting specialists for GI and Urology
- Operate in a 24/7 emergency department, with 1:3 call schedule
Requirements
- Board Certification in General Surgery
- At least 5 years of post-residency experience
- Experience working in a rural, solo practice setting
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Current license to practice medicine in Alaska
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage a busy clinic and operating room schedule
- Proficiency in Epic EHR system

Schedule
Clinic hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm
Surgery days: Same hours as clinic
