General Surgeon
About the role
As a General Surgeon at Bear River Clinic and Bear River Valley Hospital, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role, you’ll join a community-focused general surgery practice serving a high-need rural population, offering autonomy, procedural variety, and long-term stability through a full-scope general surgery practice with a strong endoscopy component. This is a solo General Surgeon position with the opportunity to collaborate with a larger regional group, as well as the chance to build and grow a robotics program with a surgical robot expected to arrive by the end of the year.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of healthcare professionals to provide quality care and excellent patient experience.
- Serve a high-need rural population through a full-scope general surgery practice with a strong endoscopy component.
- Collaborate with a larger regional group and build and grow a robotics program.
- Manage 2 days of clinic per week with 8 days of call built into the base salary, with additional compensation for any excess coverage.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery.
- Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one.
- BLS, ACLS certification and DEA.
- Endoscopy proficiency required due to the community's significant need for endoscopic services.
- Robotic surgery experience or strong interest preferred, with a robotic platform expected to be implemented by the end of the year.
Qualifications

Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $7.25 - $999.99
