General Support Laborer

Assist with plant operation, equipment operation, and general maintenance, including cleaning, material handling, and preventative maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean plant areas by shoveling or washing spilled material from under conveyors, tail pulleys, and structures; removing debris from stairs, catwalks, platforms, and tunnels; washing concrete pads; sweeping control houses.
• Perform safety and operational inspections; document safety concerns and mechanical defects.
• Unload and clean rail cars and/or barges as required.
• Maintain grounds by mowing grass, picking up litter, etc.
• Perform facilities preventative maintenance and assist maintenance personnel in repairs and clean-up.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment.
• Operate mobile and fixed plant equipment as needed.
• Assist with various tasks throughout the facility; travel to other facilities may be required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
• Entry-level experience in mining or construction industry.
• Must be able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language.
• Ability to operate a skid-steer, forklift, or similar clean-up loader.
• Must be able to work outdoors and be exposed to varying and/or extreme weather conditions.
• May work in high and/or precarious places or cramped workspaces requiring awkward positions.
• Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull, push, bend, and lift up to 45 pounds.
• Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions of heat and cold; may be required to wear a respirator.
• Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
• Must be able to work required overtime and a flexible work schedule.

Pay

The hourly range for this role is $22.79 - $30.09. This range is not inclusive of discretionary bonus or equity package. Compensation is determined based on skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
