General Staff Nurse - PICU and Peds

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in an assigned clinical area under the general supervision of an Assistant Nurse Manager, Head Nurse, Nurse Manager, or other higher-level nurse or health care professional.
• Assess patients' needs and administer treatments, medications, and general care according to nursing and medical orders.
• Work subject to shift assignment over a 24‑hour, 7 days per week period.
• Exercise partial supervision over paraprofessional and ancillary staff in the delegation of some components of the nursing regimen.
• Perform related work as required.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

License, Certification, and Registration

• Current license in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Certified in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
