About the role

As a General Service Technician, you’ll help keep our customers safe on the road by performing essential vehicle maintenance and repairs. Responsibilities

• Tire mounting, dismounting, balancing, and rotation
• Oil changes and other light vehicle maintenance
• Multi-point inspections and documenting vehicle conditions
• Keeping the shop clean, organized, and safe
• Driving vehicles safely and courteously while obeying all traffic laws
• Picking up parts and supplies
• Transporting customers as needed
• Following all safety procedures and reporting concerns to your supervisor
• Supporting team members with other assigned tasks
• Adhering to Sun Auto’s core values and company policies

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Some knowledge of basic automotive systems (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Flexibility to work Saturdays (with Sundays off)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions

The General Service Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The work environment temperature varies and may include extreme heat or cold.

• Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly
• Full range of motion with arms and hands, including frequent handling or fingering of objects
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds frequently
• Communicate effectively with customers and shop personnel
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus

Pay

Starting pay is $15–$18 per hour, depending on experience and skill set.
