General Service Technician

About the role

Tate Boys Tire & Auto Service, part of Sun Auto Tire & Service, seeks a General Service Technician to perform non-technical automotive service repairs, assist with shop operations, and maintain a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform tire mounting, dismounting, balancing, and rotation
• Conduct oil changes and other light vehicle maintenance
• Complete multi-point inspections and document vehicle conditions
• Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and safety
• Drive customers and pick up parts in a safe, courteous manner
• Follow all safety procedures and report concerns to supervisor
• Support team members with assigned tasks
• Adhere to Sun Auto’s core values and company policies

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years old
• Current, valid driver’s license
• Current or expired State Inspector License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• General understanding of under-hood, mechanical, and undercarriage assemblies
• Ability to work Monday–Saturday

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Work environment temperature varies, including extreme heat and/or cold
• Stand up to eight hours per day; walk to access various areas
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly
• Full range of motion with arms and hands; feel, handle, or finger objects frequently
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly; up to 50 pounds frequently
• Hear and speak; vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus

Pay

$16–$19/hour, depending on experience and skill set.
