General Role Players

About the Role

DarkStar Intelligence is seeking cleared Role Players to support realistic Naval Special Warfare (NSW) field training across Southern California. Role players portray characters such as detainees, civilians, and opposing forces to add realism and combat‑relevant stress to SOF training. These positions require an active Secret clearance and the physical readiness to perform in austere, high‑tempo environments while following scenario scripts and safety direction precisely. Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

• Portray assigned scenario roles (detainee, civilian, OPFOR, etc.)
• Act as OPFOR, including engagement with non‑lethal marking cartridge weapons
• Stay on script for the scenario without ad‑libbing
• Operate marking/blank weapons after instruction; wear PPE and scenario‑appropriate clothing
• Travel to and perform at California ranges per task order

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance
• Pass high‑risk training suitability screening per OPNAVINST 1500.75C and COMNAVSPECWARCOMINST 1500.1
• Physical fitness for austere environments and night operations; able to be restrained/zip‑tied, stand/lie prone for extended periods, wear full PPE (helmet, throat guard, groin guard), and engage with non‑lethal marking ammunition
• Basic weapons handling and safety proficiency; able to operate marking/blank weapons after instruction
• Ability to work up to 12‑hour days and accommodate short‑notice nights/weekends and ±2‑day schedule shifts
• Ability to travel to and perform at CA ranges (Niland, San Clemente Island, Fort Hunter Liggett, San Diego, Seal Beach)
• Ability to protect CUI and comply with security/dissemination and standards‑of‑conduct requirements

Desired Qualifications

• Prior military experience
• USSOCOM‑unit experience
• NSW/SOF scenario familiarity; prior role‑player experience
