General Production

About the Role

This position operates on an 8-hour or 12-hour schedule in a bakery manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up operation of bakery equipment and manufacturing lines.
• Establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing products according to production guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with Production and Packaging procedures and practices.
• Inspect all areas within assigned line or equipment for operational or mechanical issues.
• Report equipment issues to supervisors or managers immediately.
• Complete and submit production reports throughout the day.
• Visually inspect products for quality and quantity.
• Monitor production runs and perform basic troubleshooting on bakery equipment.
• Support quality control programs to ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.
• Understand and comply with all safety procedures applicable to daily operations.
• Follow proper lock-out/tag-out procedures where applicable.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Previous safety training preferred.
• Experience assisting with changeovers preferred.
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment preferred.

Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment where the noise level can be loud.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• May require use of equipment requiring certification before use.

All necessary tools and equipment will be supplied and maintained by the employer at no cost to the employee. These items must remain on the premises.
