About the Role

We have opportunities for General Production at our Long Prairie, Minnesota plant. This is a full-time, on-site position with day shift hours (start times vary based on production needs). Shifts are 8–11+ hours per day, 5–6 days per week, including daily overtime as required.

Responsibilities

General Production - Harvest

• Perform a variety of specialized tasks in a warm, hot, humid, or wet environment.
• Properly use tools such as knives, hooks, or other specialized equipment.
• Perform physical tasks requiring upper body strength and constant repetitive movements.
• Stand on hard surfaces for the entire shift; use stairs and personal protection equipment (PPE) in all areas of the facility.
• Comply with all food safety policies and regulations.
• Adhere to all safety and housekeeping processes and procedures to ensure safety for employees, customers, and visitors.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture; follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Identify and communicate workplace hazards; correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
• Work and collaborate with a diverse workforce.

General Production - Fabrication

• Perform a variety of specialized tasks in a cold, wet, or damp environment.
• Properly use hook, knife, saw, band saw, or other equipment to remove bones, trim, skin, separate, sort, or cut standard or premium cuts of meat to specifications.
• Perform physical tasks requiring upper body strength and constant repetitive movements.
• Stand on hard surfaces for the entire shift; use stairs and personal protection equipment (PPE) in all areas of the facility.
• Comply with all food safety policies and regulations.
• Adhere to all safety and housekeeping processes and procedures to ensure safety for employees, customers, and visitors.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture; follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Identify and communicate workplace hazards; correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
• Work and collaborate with a diverse workforce.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures (warm, hot, humid, cold, wet) and on slippery surfaces at varied heights around moving equipment, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday, including daily overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum:
  • Successful completion of training in:
    • Safety
    • Safe Quality Food (SQF)
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
    • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Food defense
• Preferred:
  • Prior harvest or fabrication experience in a USDA-inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
  • Prior production experience.
  • Work history in the last 12 months.

Pay

Base hourly range of $19.65 to $25.00 per hour.
